How to Recognize a Wind Slab

This is the the start of the video, note the red circles. You can see a plume from a small summit in the distance, and featuring in the snow. The blue circle is the smooth pillowed section.

34 seconds into the video note the snow moving over the crown line. Although we couldn’t see the snow moving near the surface earlier it likely was. Most of the snow being transported in a wind loading event moves close to the surface of the snow.

Finally at 29 seconds into the video when they pan down note the featured snow with pillowed snow below as the terrain rolls over.
