Since its inception CGI has been in the forefront of the movement to encourage guides to undergo formalized training and certification. At CGI, formal training and certification exams are required. Climbing and ski guides working for CGI must have completed at least one AMGA certification exam. In addition to that, all our guides hold at least a Wilderness First Responder first aid certification, and the winter guides who work on Mt. Washington are required to have completed a Level III Avalanche Course approved by the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education. Our own in-house training and orientation then enhances this formal education.
What do CGI's high standards mean for you? The intensive training and exams we have gone through allow us to better meet your needs. Because our training focuses first and foremost on safety, we can give you the peace of mind that will allow you to learn and to enjoy the mountain environment. Another benefit we offer is the ability to move groups efficiently, allowing time to teach you important skills and still provide you with the most climbing possible in a day. Because we are trained to an international standard, the skills you learn will be the latest techniques and methods from around the world. We choose routes that are best suited for you and that will allow you to broaden and expand your knowledge and achieve your goals. We aim to exceed your expectations and provide you with the best experience possible whether you are a beginner or learning to lead. CGI looks forward to sharing our love of the mountains and offering you a rewarding experience. Our guides take pride in providing you with exceptional service.
