| Here,
we've just left Right Gully and are back in the main part of Tuckerman Ravine.
The Headwall is in the background with The Lip on the right. Now we have
a great, little, steep run to get us back to the base of the ravine followed
by a very scenic and mellow run down the Sherburne Ski Trail. This ski ascent
and descent of Right Gully covers 3,300 feet of vertical and in the right
conditions can be done almost entirely on skis. The total time for this
tour on this day was three hours, car to car. It's possible to cover a lot
of ground and get a lot of great skiing in on Mount Washington once you
become proficient at a few basic ski mountaineering techniques. Give us
a call and give it a try! |
