| This
area has an excellent, small assortment of thin and mixed climbs. Nothing
here is very easy. Several new, difficult routes were put in here last year
and at least one new route has been finished this season, but climbers have
been putting up routes here since the early 80's. Some routes are bolted,
some have fixed pins and gear, and some require that you place all your
own gear and screws. These climbs are on the small cliff (Duck's Head) opposite
the covered bridge in Jackson. Look for a small turnout on the west side
of 16 which leads into a power company transformer. Park here. For more
information, the area is listed in Wilcox's ice climbing guide. |
